Whether you are a fitness fanatic, or just a little bit lazy when it comes to exercising, these lazy girl workouts at home are what you have been looking for your entire life! Try out my 10 simple exercises to get your heart rate pumping, whilst blasting those excess calories like a pro. Exercise doesn’t need to be boring, just dedicate 5 minutes to your fitness each day whilst watching your favourite tv show. It couldn’t be easier!

1. Tabata Routine

Tabata is a tough workout that blasts a massive load of calories in just 5 minutes. It’s not the easiest of workouts, but it will quickly shred your excess body fat fast. It’s one of the shortest workouts you will ever find, so get your lazy butt off that couch right now, and give it a go! You could even watch Netflix whilst you workout!

My tabata routine might only last 5 minutes, however, if you’re not prepared to give this workout everything you’ve got then don’t bother at all! Instead, walk back to that couch and be lazy. Or, chose to dedicate just 5 minutes of your life to this short workout (3 times a week), and start feeling fabulously fit within the month.

Tabata Exercise Routine

This is a bodyweight workout, so you will not require any equipment. Follow my routine, work yourself as hard as you can. And remember, it’s just 5 MINUTES!

Complete 20 seconds of each exercise, then rest for 10 seconds. Repeat! This routine will last a total of 5 minutes.

  1. High knees
  2. Burpee
  3. Mountain Climbers
  4. Jumping Squats
  5. Commando

2. Plank Challenge Workout

Planking is a great exercise for strengthening your core body muscles. It forces you to hold your tummy muscles in, whilst also improving your balance. It can also help strengthen your lower back, making you less susceptible to pain in your lower back. The endorphins released from exercising also help improve your mood, making you feel happier.

Complete our 5 minute plank challenge below, and get rock hard ab muscles:

  1. Full plank – 1 Minute
  2. Elbow Plank – 1 Minute
  3. Side Plank – 30 seconds (each side)
  4. Raised leg plank – 30 seconds (each side)
  5. Elbow Plank – 1 Minute

3. HiiT Home Workout

I love HiiT workouts because they make you feel soooo good! They’re really intense, but this is a good thing because they raise your heart rate and metabolic rate. The first few workouts will feel tough, but after a few weeks consistency you will already be feeling so much fit and healthier.

If you want to feel super healthy, with bags of energy to spare, then try my 5 minute HiiT workout below.

You will complete each of these exercises at high intensity for 45 seconds, followed by a 30 second rest. Total exercise time is 5 minutes. 

  1. Burpees with press up
  2. Skipping on the spot
  3. Jumping Jacks
  4. Mountain Climbers

4. Cardio Circuits

If you only have 5 minutes to spare, cardio circuits are a great option to choose. This short workout helps to improve your cardiovascular fitness levels, whilst also strengthening your muscles. You can also scorch a lot of calories from such a short workout. Why wouldn’t you try this?!

Work to rest ratio – 50 seconds work, 10 seconds rest.

  1. Medicine Ball Slam
  2. Squat Jumps (otherwise known as jumping squats)
  3. Chair Dips (also known as tricep dips)
  4. Side Step Overs – Using your fitness deck.
  5. Jumping Lunges

5. Squat Workout

Since celebrities started showing off their peachy butts, the world seems to have become obsessed with booty workouts. Every wants to have a round ‘perfect’ booty like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, so why not give our lazy girl workouts a try!

If you’re after that peachy pert bottom look too then this workout is definitely the one to take a 5 minute rest from the couch for!

Total workout time: 5 Minutes

Complete each exercise as many times as you can within the 45 seconds, then rest for 15 seconds. Repeat.

  1. Bodyweight Squat
  2. Squat Pulse
  3. Jumping Squat

6. Song Workout For Lazy Girls!

One of the best ways to keep yourself motivated whilst you workout, is by working out whilst listening to music. Music can be extremely motivational and uplifting, as long as you pick music with a great beat!

Pick 5 minutes worth of songs (roughly two songs), then complete the following exercises. When the music finishes, so does your workout. What could be easier than that?!

Complete 45 seconds of each exercise, followed by 30 seconds rest:

  1. Jumping Jacks
  2. Burpee with push-up
  3. Jumping Lunges
  4. Step Ups

7. Lunge Routine

Are you ready to make your legs, thighs and glutes burn more calories than you ever thought possible in such a short space of time? If you are, then follow my 5 minute leg workout below. Complete this workout on a regular basis, and you will significantly strengthen your leg muscles, whilst building a firm booty to be proud of.

Just remember, these lazy girl workouts are not for the faint hearted. It might only take 5 minutes, but from my personal experience this leg workout burns like crazy. So make things easier on yourself, by watching Netflix at the same time to take your mind off it!

Lunge Workout: 5 Minute Workout

Complete 45 seconds of each exercise, followed by 30 seconds rest.

  1. Jump Lunges
  2. Slider Reverse Lunge
  3. Rear foot elevated split squat (using a chair)
  4. Pendulum Lunge

8. Arm Workout

Toned sexy arms look amazing, especially in the Summer months when you get to show them off!

Follow my 5 minute workout plan below if you are keen to build stronger arm muscles. Aim to complete as many sets as you can within the total 5 minutes workout time.

Arm Workout

  1. Shoulder press (12-15 reps)
  2. Bicep Curls (12-15 reps)
  3. Tricep Dip (12-15 reps)
  4. Commando (12-15 reps)
  5. Push Up (12-15 reps)

9. Lower Body Workout

Muscle burns calories at a crazy rate simply to exist. Did you know that your glutes are the biggest muscle in your body? No? Well put simply this means that you glutes have the capability of torching loads of calories each day, even if you are not completing a workout. Sounds good, especially if you hate exercising! So, even if you’re a lazy girl, dedicate just 5 minutes of your day towards working out your lower body muscles to start seeing result.

Lower Body Workout: Total Time 5 Minutes

  1. Dumbbell Deadlift (12-15 reps)
  2. Kettlebell Squats (12-15 reps)
  3. Sumo Squats with dumbbells (above shoulders) – (12-15 reps)
  4. Curtsy Lunge (12-15 reps)

Complete as many sets of this workout as you can within 5 minutes.

10. Ab Exercise Routine

A washboard stomach, another very sought after look in the fitness world!

Total workout time: 5 Minutes

  1. Side Plank Reach Throughs (12-15 reps)
  2. Hip Thrusts (12-15 reps)
  3. Crunches (15 reps)
  4. Oblique Crunches (15 reps)
  5. Side Plank – 30 seconds (each side)

Complete as many of these exercises as possible, within 5 minutes.
